An Extra Inning Bonanza!

This one needed extra inning to get sorted out...

Little did we know, we saved the best for last!  On Thursday, July 20, 2017 a huge crowd came out to see the Oriole Park White Sox take on the first place A's in a PeeWee division showdown.  The crowd started to gather early in order to get a good seat for this classic and it seemed like the crowds kept growing throughout the game-and for good reason.

This long anticipated battle for the PeeWee championship is a great tradition at Oriole Park and this was no exception.  This was a seesaw battle that had the crowd on its feet, roars echoing throughout the park and cow bells ringing in excitement.

The defensive play of both teams shined in this classic battle.  I am willing to say that the defensive play and "baseball IQ" that the players of both teams displayed during the game is a true testament to the coaching staffs and their commitment to not only teaching the skills of the game but to find a way to communicate the little things that get you to the championship game and win a championship.

First rate kids playing top notch baseball is the only way to describe this game.  The bats came alive for both teams at some point in the game but it all ended up 5-5 after 6 innings and we then headed to extra innings.  The White Sox bats caught fire and the ball seemed to have eyes that top half of the 7th.  The White Sox put up 5 runs to take a 10-5 lead and that was enough to close out the game and come away with the 2017 PeeWee Championship!

The kids on both teams showcased their talents within the PeeWee division and most of all demonstrated the class and character that we are so proud they are representing Oriole Park Baseball-  WE DID SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST!

Here is to a great season and great baseball.  Cheers to the A's and the PeeWee Champion White Sox.
